The Chalfont Fire Company is mourning the loss of member Alvin F. Moyer Jr. Alvin joined the Chalfont Fire Company in 1948, and throughout the years served as Assistant Chief, Engineer, and Vice President. Alvin passed away on July 27, 2012. Alvin remained active with the Fire Company until he became ill. The new firehouse sits on land previously owned by the Moyer family.   In addition to serving the Fire Company, Alvin also volunteered with Chalfont Boro and the Chalfont United Methodist Church. Alvin retired as head mechanic for the Central Bucks School District in 1992.   Alvin is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann and daughters Pam Kasa and Pennie Naylor. He is also survived by his sister Edith Horn. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at Chalfont United Methodist Church, Rt. 202 and Meadowbrook Lane, Chalfont where the Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private at the request of the family.
